The Headstart App was initially conceived as an iPad app. However, through consultations with the clients and understanding their diverse needs, we expanded its capabilities to eventually run on mobile devices, ensuring seamless access to essential salon features and client information on-the-go.

To create a salon software that truly understands the needs of salon professionals, I conducted in-depth interviews with clients, who offered a bank of knowledge as to how the software should work, what it's key features should be and what salon owners, stylists, and front desk personnel experience as their biggest pain points. By gaining insights into this, I was able to develop a comprehensive user experience that focuses on efficient consulting with clients and seamless data integration into the system.

Dynamic Pre-Assessment Form: Custom-built for each salon, this form provides clients with a user-friendly dynamic interface. Clients can conveniently complete the form and submit it back to the salon before their appointment, providing the stylist with valuable insights prior to the consultation.
Prescription Management: Headstart App simplifies product recommendations by enabling therapists to prescribe products to clients directly within the app. The prescription feature is designed to avoid pop-ups and offers flexible options for clients to select replenishment dates or product cycles.
History and Image Archive: The app keeps a comprehensive history of all previous form submissions, making it easy for therapists and stylists to scroll back and view images from prior visits. This history enhances the salon's personalised service by providing a comprehensive overview of each client's journey.
Disclaimer management: Headstart App segregates disclaimers, offering separate in-app and browser page disclaimers, ensuring compliance and legal requirements are met while providing a seamless user experience.
